The catalogue in connection with the exhibition “Die Wahlverwandtschaften” (The Elective Affinities) has no less a goal than comprehensively presenting the most important aspects of German art of the past fifty years – from the generation around Joseph Beuys until today. Over fifty renowned artists show impressive paintings, drawings, and sculptures, supplemented by fascinating positions in photography as well as video and conceptual art, and divided into various categories facilitate a comprehensive overview of German art from the 1960s until today.
