This catalogue, and the exhibition of the same name, is the LEVY Galerie's homage to Daniel Spoerri, one of the most important proponents of contemporary art and founder of Eat Art, on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The focus of the exhibition is on the snare pictures, which he began creating in the 1960s as a member of the French art movement Nouveau Réalisme. Since then, he has been composing these "captured remains of everyday realities" from a never-ending store of materials, moving between media like bronze, wood, paper and porcelain.
The richly illustrated catalogue is supplemented by an essay by Arnold Stadler with letters to the gallery owner Thomas Levy and an essay by curator and author David Galloway.
