In multilayered photographs, Isabell Hoffmann (*1993) reveals historical traces of the National Socialist period in Koblenz. She links her documentary-artistic pictures with an archival level consisting of photographs and maps from the 1930s. Germania Eck examines a concrete city landscape and its architectural fabric. What currently exists and the past are always equally relevant in doing so. The publication presents the results of Hoffmann’s conceptual examination of sites of memory in the city of Koblenz and questions the strategies of our culture of memory today.
