Jan Henderikse (*1937) is one of the most important representatives of Dutch contemporary art. In 1959, in cooperation with Kees van Bohemen, Henk Peeters, Armando, and Jan Schoonhoven, he established the Nul group—an artists’ movement parallel to the German ZERO group. His assemblages, montages, and serial sequences of works made from everyday materials in the tradition of Readymades show echoes of Nouveau Réalisme and Pop Art. His works have been shown in large ZERO retrospectives in New York and Berlin, among other exhibitions. The publication brings together works from 1967 to 2017 and provides comprehensive insight into the artist’s oeuvre.
