The menacing-sounding title, "Kill Your Darlings", provides an insight into the modus operandi of the eponymous group of photographers: if the group’s selection criteria are not satisfied, even a photo that is a personal favourite, a Darling, must be discarded. The photographers’ relationship with photography, culture, society and aesthetics is quite clearly hotly debated here and leads to many new favourite photos, which find their place in this exciting volume of work.
All members of the group studied with Peter Bialobrzeski at the University of the Arts Bremen and their work reflects the self-confidence and Zeitgeist of a young generation of photographers.
