Alexander Nickl is a light artist and neoprojectionist. Over nine years, he worked on an inner world, depicted in Mentagrams, which is documented in depth in the Viennese Mentagramm I. The subsequent publication, Mentagramm II, presents new Mentagrams from 2014 to 2016, which tell of an outside world. This world is shown in numerous stage settings under the spotlight of the neoprojectionist theater. These “stage setting landscapes” consist of flowers, trees, dream images, contacts to artists, and news items. The question of which stage settings make their way into the presentation of the neoprojectionist theater is decided by a kind of Deus ex machina, the KD-L47.
