The already legendary Rau collection comprises masterpieces of the Renaissance through to Impressionism and post-Impressionism. Their diversity affords presentations of the numerous subjects found in art history. The very best landscapes and still lifes have come together here for the first time. This exhibition of paintings allows a profound insight into the transformation of the human view of nature, sometimes at a distance, sometimes up close. The Dutch and Flemish van Goyen, van der Neer, Sweerts and Snyders as well as the French Fantin-Latour, Cézanne, Pissaro, Monet, Sérusier, Bonnard and Vuillard, among others, are represented here.
