Inspired by John Milton's epic poem from 1667 about the biblical expulsion from Paradise, the SCHAUM group's artist's book of the same name (Paradise Lost) is a subjective and fragmented narrative of artistic works that deal with human dreams, Utopias, places of past longing and lost desires. The SCHAUM group enters into a type of search for clues and investigation of collective identity and our obsession with yearning for Paradise. In its works, the collective examines, with subtle irony, social trends and the relevance of Western and Christian motifs and concepts in the visual arts.
