The unmistakeable worlds of artists  Simone Haack (Painting and Drawing) and Uta Zaumseil (Woodcuts) are what mark them out. They share an interest in hidden things, which they represent and visualise in their work. Simone Haack‘s fictional portraits take us into the (non) depths of human existence.  The suggestive power of her artwork is both fascinating and uncanny.   Uta Zaumseil’s synthesis of the old technique of wood and lino cutting with photos has developed into a vivid imagery that is very much her own.  Her expressive range features finely-graded colours and engages with random motifs in a narrative way.
