Hearing, feeling, smelling, tasting and seeing – we perceive the world and also ourselves through these five senses. But how important are they in contemporary art?
This question is addressed by a number of international artists in five installations, each of which has been dedicated to one sense. The senses are brought alive through art here and are not only addressed but also opened up for discussion in numerous other works and essays.
The interaction between the art, which deals with the senses, and the perception of art with all the senses is thus revealed in its astonishing variety.
