Cross-generationally, The Spirit of Times and Convergences presents 21 artists, teaching at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chongqing. The Sichuan Fine Arts Institute is one of the most innovative art schools in China and, since 1978, it has been dedicated to the freedom thought and sensitive social change. The comprehensive publication shows the diverse plurality of Chinese art, which between individuality and society, figuration and abstraction, absurdity and realism self-confidently seeks after its own voice, inquiring into the human amidst passed on traditions and a globalized present.
