The 7½ Lives of Walter Moers

From the Little Asshole via Captain Bluebear to Zamonia

The tall stories of Captain Bluebear are as legendary as the politically incorrect behaviour of the Little Asshole. And with his character, Adolf, the Nazi Pig, Walter Moers broke the final taboo. For years now, the illustrator and author has been drawing us into his fanciful imaginary continent of Zamonia, which he populates with all kinds of beings: Chromobears, Crats, Ugglies, and not least Hildegunst von Mythenmetz, the lindworm-cum-author. This catalogue accompanies the exhibition in Ludwiggalerie, which presents, for the first time, original drawings, sketches, paintings, sculptures, puppets and much more besides, inviting us on a magical journey along which many puzzles must be solved.
