The Sculptors

Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, 1945 to the present day
Sculptors, professors and students at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie have been inspiring others since 1945. They have shaped the productive debates of the Akademie and have also made a significant contribution to sculpture at international level.

Anthony Cragg, Professor and Rector of the Akademie, was the initiator of the exhibition, which is accompanied by this catalogue. This is an impressive panorama of modern sculpture, based on selected works by more than fifty artists. This unique and relevant portrayal illustrates how artistic ideas are created, how they change and how they lead to innovation.
