This catalogue has been in preparation for over two years and presents the most significant acquisition of the Technical Collections of Dresden in recent years: the Peter Göllner Collection of the Heinrich Ernemann Corporation in Dresden, a unique collection in terms of cultural and technical history with more than 160 devices as well as around 70 further objects and a great number of texts. This catalogues aims to become the definitive work on “The Photographic Industry and Visual Worlds”. It documents a conference on Ernemann and presents a detailed catalogue of all the Ernemann materials in the Technical Collections of Dresden. The in-depth essays and the exhibits displayed serve to illustrate the special contribution made by Dresden’s early photographic and cinematographic industry.
