Giacomo Santiago Rogado
First Second Patience
Abstraction and figuration – both forms are equally important in defining the pictures of the young, internationally up-and-coming Swiss painter Giacomo Santiago Rogado, a crosser of boundaries who seeks to unite ostensible opposites. His abstract work originates in the figurative, which he in turn incorporates into non-representational painting. Out of geometric shapes, linear demarcations and almost mathematically tuned colour palettes, Rogado develops a dynamic interaction that not only produces spatial depth, but downright seduces the viewer into diving into the picture.
This monographic catalogue provides a comprehensive insight into a magic world of austere geometries and grotesque drawing as well as traditional and experimental painting – all fascinating ways of approaching boundaries in order then to dissolve them.
