Axel Grünewald looks at the edges of the present. For more than five years, he has repeatedly traveled through the coastal regions of Morocco and southern Spain, to the continental border between Europe and Africa.

Grants 10/11

2010/11 Lepsien Art Foundation scholarship winners
Supporting young artists and talent, taking new artistic paths and creating cultural bridges between Europe and the Middle East – this is the goal of the annual support programme of the Lepsien Art Foundation. This scholarship will be awarded to five excellent international new artists from the disciplines of painting, sculpture and photograph, documented in this annual catalogue. The works of the scholarship winners are presented, as well as individual interviews with the curator Dr Katja Schlenker, providing interesting views of the life and work of these young artists.
