“Colour, material, weight, size, form and even construction are all of equal importance and meaning in my sculptures. The construction is totally determined by the qualities, the structure (that is, the harmony of the qualities) of the material, and therefore adheres to the principle of simplicity. The aim of attempting to reach the ideal is only possible when the form has this material, this colour, this size and this method of construction. The sculptures are ‘formed’ from my reaction to the innateness of a material, of a proposed form, of a colour.” (Helga Natz)
This catalogue is the first comprehensive publication of a section of Helga Natz’s work and presents 75 sculptures from the last 20 years.
