The Subtle Irony of Art

Irony often brings insight to reality and can also be wonderfully expressed in art. Here, internationally famous artists examine the subtle irony of art. In doing so, they look at current social issues as well as political slogans, gender roles and the way we deal with nature. Self-irony is not left out – when art questions itself or the expectations of the artist or the viewer.
The answers to these questions are always enigmatic and subtle and capture the pulse of our age, albeit not always painlessly.
