A Critique and Emancipation of Childhood

Go and play with the Giant!

The catalogue accompanying this exhibition at Villa Stuck is aimed at both adults and children and takes as its theme ideas about childhood from the perspective of contemporary art. In addition to text and images, it also contains pages that invite readers to participate. One of the consequences of the digital revolution has been that children have long been considered equal partners to adults. "Adults are just a bit bigger," says Hans-Joachim Gelberg, who published his famous children's literary annual, "Go and Play with the Giant", in 1971.
