Birgit Brandis

“The works of Birgit Brandis appear in a variety of media which she employs very naturally. There is an enormous range of techniques and genres, her repertoire of motifs is full of mysterious references, the images enormously colourful and expansive.” (D. Dobke) Besides the paintings in large format, the image-intense high reliefs and the photographies she creates spatial interventions. For her Bodenschüttungen, she pours various colors on the museum floor, where they mingle and harden into pools of color.
