Ulrich Möckel

„The sculptor Ulrich Möckel lives and works in the forest and with the forest. His sculptures are created from wood taken from trees that grow close to where he lives. Yet, Möckel does not deal with the archaic; he is a visionary artist whose work is genuinely transformatory. His artistic interest focuses on exploring the material of wood as regards its ambivalence as a natural and artificial form and its transformation into other states” .
