Does the Bauhaus still contribute to further developments in photographic pictorial languages? What role does the avant-garde photography play for contemporary artists today? At the center of Bauhaus and Photography is the reconstruction of László Moholy-Nagy’s photography-section at the legendary 1929–1930 Werkbund-exhibition Film und Foto (Film and Photo).

Cris Koch 343 m/s
Sound waves travel at an average speed of 343 metres per second. Sound and all things sonic play a central role as theme, lettering and title in the work of young Berlin artist Cris Koch. Using a diverse range of technologies, tools and media the artist and musician weaves together urban motifs with typographic fragments and popular figures to create frenzied works of pop culture.
This catalogue presents, for the first time in book form, paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and objects belonging to the artist and is the accompanying catalogue marking the start of a four-part series of exhibitions entitled “RICOCHET“ at the Museum Villa Stuck, in which young artists are invited and challenged to open up discourses on the present through the aesthetic transformation of a new perspective.
