Photographer Samantha Dietmar creates a visual diary with her camera, retaining impressions of her travels and of everyday life in Germany. In the photographic series “ÜBER VIELES. UND NICHTS.” she directs her focus towards insignificant occurrences and her conceptual photographs address the consolidation of small scenes and events from the everyday external world: poetic, disturbing, complex, inherently contradictory, critical of society – but always from Dietmar’s individual point of view. Her foray through life reveals a very personal world of images, which nevertheless allow the viewer to establish casual yet trenchant connections between the diverse genres and motifs. The individual pictures themselves give rise to stories that are both clear-cut and ambiguous.
