A dialogue between non-Western and Western cultures on anthropological, sociopolitical, and environmental as well as economics-related and day-to-day questions

Sophia Pompéry

In her works, which include video, photography, object art and installations, Sophia Pompéry takes diffuse atmospheres and situations and plays with encoded motifs, leading to unexpected results when we look closer. Taking physical laws into consideration, she shows unusual perspectives of the everyday and sets poetic processes in motion. This book, which is published to accompany her first solo exhibition in an art institution in Germany, includes complete documentation of the exhibition and its design is based on a concept by the artist that investigates the limits of the artist’s book as well as the character of her works.
