Unexpected Encounters

In Unexpected Encounters, the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur presents some 140 works from the collection of Westfälische Provinzial Versicherung in, at times, unusual juxtapositions. The sculptures, textile works, paintings, and photographs by the thirty-seven artists represented in the exhibition comprise a selection of the diverse holdings. In addition to numerous color illustrations, the catalogue also contains a complete inventory of the collection holdings for the first time. A statement by Klaus Bussmann and a text by Emmanuel Mir provide insights into the art- and cultural-historical significance of the collection.
