Truth

The search for truth has shaped our cultural history since Classical Antiquity and has never been more radically questioned than it is today. Despite, and precisely because of the prevailing scepticism, this catalogue attempts to interrogate art's potential with regard to truth and the acquisition of knowledge. With this in mind, Bayer Kultur has initiated a dialogue between contemporary art and the old Masters in the SØR Rusche Collection Oelde/Berlin.
Spread across five chapters, curator and author Mark Gisbourne investigates "truth" in contemporary art based on key works in the Baroque SØR Rusche Collection.
