Wilma Wiegmann

The diversity in Wilma Wiegmann’s work is a direct reflection of the great openness and receptiveness with which she has lived her life. She translates her experiences and impressions into a symphony of colors. The viewer responds spontaneously to the luminous and dynamic quality of her paintings. A subtle differentiation of shades and tones, a blending and fragmentation of line and color draws the viewer into a world of imagery and lets him/her discover continually new perspectives. Wilma Wiegmann has managed to preserve her ability to marvel at the world, not just at the wonders of nature but also at the fascinating achievements of civilization. Her restless creativity flows from a great passion for life and seeks a change of pace not by relaxing but by varying her artistic focus - color compositions alternate with complex constructs of modern cityscapes, semi-abstract landscapes and floral motifs, impressions of men and women in their environment. What remains constant is the dynamic quality of her use of color and her endeavor to express the emotional reality of her motifs.
