The paintings of the young artist Ina Gerken oscillate between abstraction and graphic techniques and hence develop a very special, haptic quality.

Skulpturen – Sculptures
Zoyt, 1957 born in Cananda, is an autodidact. He consciously chose the use of wood as the material for his sculptures and this conscious commitment has influenced the sculptors shaping of forms. Wood is a material with its own specifi c characteristics which can not be disregarded.
In certain ways wood is more complicated to work with than stone, insofar as stone being uncomplicated due to its homogeneous structure and therefore not prone to bending.
Zoyt‘s sculptures are cut directly from the tree trunks so that the raw traces of the tools remain discernable. The body mass of the figure is accentuated by partial discolouration, lending them however, no expressive emotions which might obtrude the observer. There are neither any formal similarities to these well-known representatives of the present day wood-sculptors‘ scene nor any relation to the style.
The sculptor has succeeded, in the past decade, in developing an unmistakable language for shapes, using it in various ways yet producing individual sculptures.
