Carsten Sievers and

Objects and their relationship to both themselves and to other objects form the focal point of Carsten Sievers’ works. The latter are conceptual experimental arrangements with a reduced design vocabulary, created through the repetition of simple operations – dividing, rotating, folding – and thus document their own transformation from objects of minimalistic austerity and rigour to structures of almost baroque complexity.
 
This catalogue assembles important works from 1992 to 2013 from the spheres of drawing, sculpture and object-making, offering the viewer an insight into the artist’s work, which was designed as an open system.
