Ruinen der Gegenwart / Contemporary Ruins
Contemporary Ruins
Our globalized present can be characterized as an era of ruins. Worldwide political instability and ominipresent media images of destruction practically deliver ruins right to our door. In contrast to the classic view of ruins, today’s approach is towards their concrete causes. The artists of the exhibition Contemporary Ruins address ruins as indicators of political, economic or ecological processes, and challenge how they stimulate aesthetic speculations about the future. The accompanying publication offers an exciting insight into the issue.
