Daniel Lergon
Eigengrau
The works of Daniel Lergon (*1978) captivate as a result of their minimalistic compositions and particular materiality. They are painted not with conventional paints, but with transparent lacquers, metal powders, and water on special grounds. This gives rise to pictures that look completely different depending on the viewer’s standpoint on the retroreflective fabrics. Lergon juxtaposes this type of painting with works painted with metal powder on the bare wall. His abstract motifs and the use of special materials revolve around the juxtaposition of light and painting. The new publication presents works that the artist created in the period between 2009 and 2016.
