Peter Radelfinger
“Everybody has a blue finger“
Since the 1980s Peter Radelfinger, one of the most significant Swiss artists, has concentrated almost exclusively on the medium of drawing and the value of this medium today with regard to the great variety of media now available. This catalogue illustrates the development of Radelfinger’s work and presents three recent groups of work that he began in 2000. In addition to general discussions on issues like the individual, society and politics, the reality of the image, for example is also examined.
Using extremely simple means, Radelfinger manages to consistently create drawings full of allusions that interweave extremely dissimilar subjects together in a witty and enigmatic way. In this way, without accusing or moralising, he highlights issues of our times, issues that are at times unpleasant or fraught with conflict.
