Nie wieder störungsfrei!
Aachen Avant-garde since 1964
The avant-garde artists of the 1960s and 1970s were a phenomenon present well beyond the major cities. Since 1964, artists like Gerhard Richter, Lawrence Weiner, Peter Roehr, Rune Mields, Joseph Beuys, Alison Knowles, Bazon Brock, Allen Jones, Wolf Vostell, Robert Filliou, Stanley Brouwn, Jörg Immendorff, Nam June Paik, Chris Reinecke and Gilbert & George have worked on projects in Aachen.
This book to accompany the exhibition includes a great number of interviews with contemporary witness that allow history to be experienced; it presents the best works and the momentous events that are paradigms of the art of this time, which, even today, display experimental power.
