Gerwald Rockenschaub

Gerwald Rockenschaub has been a key figure in the European art scene since the beginning of the 1980s, initially working around the Neo-Geo movement, he has continuously developed his art towards a focus on the site of an exhibition and its architecture.
His – often room-scale – works, mostly created from synthetic industrial materials, oscillate between pop and techno-aesthetics and reflect contemporary fashion and lifestyle, as well as trivial layout culture.

This catalogue presents Rockenschaub’s “Color Foils”, which appear as purely abstract constructions, yet evoke multi-layered associations with familiar images or objects.
