everywhere and nowhere
The Reydan Weiss Collection
The contrasting panorama depicted in “überall und nirgends” (everywhere and nowhere) shows the multi-faceted nature of the Reydan Weiss collection, whose concept focuses on culture as a life form.
The works of many renowned contemporary artists, created in a diverse range of media, focus on the themes of identity, homeland, gender roles, the dialogue between cultures but also the failure of ideas, concepts and models.
The exhibition combines the collector’s personal interests and background with important current issues. The works presented here deal with a number of issues, in some cases provocatively and starkly: distance and proximity, the notion of being away and at home, ownership and emotions.
