The City in the Blue Daylight
Dakar Biennial 2016 <br /> (Volume 1 + 2)
Dak'Art is one of the most important art forums on the African continent. This is the twelfth time that the Biennale of Contemporary African Art has taken place in Senegal. The curator is the French art critic and author Simon Njami. The catalogue is published in two volumes. The first volume addresses the works of the 65 participating artists. The second volume covers the city as a place of artistic development and inspiration.
This publication is an important contribution to the establishment and globalisation of African art criticism. It is a must read for anyone wishing to gain a comprehensive view of contemporary African art.
