Christian Jungeblodt was born in the Ruhr region in 1962. He studied of commercial photography at the Istituto Europeo di Design, Rome, and Italian and journalism at the FU Berlin. He has worked as a freelance photographer since 1990. From 1994 to 1998, he was a member of the signum photographers’ collective. Reportages on foreign countries for newspapers and magazines in Germany and abroad have taken him, for instance, to Albania, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Somalia. Jungeblodt works as a developer and picture editor for verdi publik, taz, Die Zeit, the Goethe Institut, and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, among others. He is the father of three children and lives in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
