Rolf H. Krauss
I collect, therefore I am
I collect, therefore I am tells the story of a journey into the past - of things big and small, important and unimportant, and not least of the author himself. Rolf H. Krauss collected for almost 60 years, and each stage of his life is reflected in one of twenty collections: from art and records on the history of photography to needlework samplers and historical equipment from his own company. I collect, therefore I am is a retrospective description of this collecting, in which the objective and the personal merge to create an autobiography that is as exciting as it is thought-provoking. Vividly and, in a sense, “en passant”, Rolf H. Krauss brings home collecting’s existential significance for human existence.
