Myriam Holme’s works are poetic pictorial compositions, which oscillate between densely compacted and glittering surfaces, glossy and matt structures, delicate and solid elements. The artist works with familiar elements or objects, which lose their familiarity due to the materials used: the result is acrylic on stain, lightly applied paint on bamboo rods and crystalline stones on dull platforms. The sensual linking of materials that differ in feel and the surpassing of spatial limits render impossible an encounter with rational thought structures.
