Julio Le Parc

Julio Le Parc was born in 1928 in Mendoza, Argentina; he lives and works in Cachan near Paris. In 1958, he came to Paris on a scholarship as an art student and co-founded the Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel (GRAV) (1960-68). Before that, he studied with Lucio Fontana at the Academia de Altamira in Buenos Aires, among others. Since the 1960s he has been exhibited worldwide; in 1966 he won the Grand International Prize for Painting at the 33rd Venice Biennale. The Kunsthalle Düsseldorf showed his work in a solo exhibition in 1972.
