Michael Sistig
Elementary Refraction
In his surreal narrative works, Michael Sistig combines the artisanal calculas of excellent painting with the emotional dramaturgy of profound soulscapes. His protagonists are often connected to his own personal experiences but are encrypted and recast as universal metaphors.
Sistig’s paintings are reminiscent of the figurative interests and experiments of Surrealism and the most recent trends in representational painting. His advances into sculpture and graphic art also demonstrate how his desire for expression is articulated with such diversity and illustrate the vehemence with which it conquers him.
