Henry Moore
human landscapes
The connection of human figure and landscape is the main subject the sculptures of the English artist Henry Moore (1898--1986). So, some of his abstract reclining figures can be characterized as “human landscapes” as it were.
Source of his inspiration was always nature. While studying nature-structures like pebbles, boulders, bones, mussels, trees and plants, Henry Moore developed his own principles of form and rhythm. From this bounded variety in nature, the artist developed his ideas and an unique feeling for organic form.
This book gives a concentrated insight in the work of the artist embossed by outstanding creative strength.
