Henry Moore. Wie die Natur

The English sculptor Henry Moore has examined the relationship between humanity and nature more intensively than almost any other twentieth-century artist. Moore’s artistic imagination brought forth new structures, based around existing natural shapes (tree trunks, bones, mussels, elephant skulls, etc.), and transformed these into meaningful contemporary on nature.
This publication presents over thirty rarely exhibited prints by Henry Moore from the collection of the Lehmbruck Museum in Duisburg. Etchings and lithographs from the series "Head of Cyclops", "Pile", "Stone Henge", "Mussels and Trees" are impressive examples of how the artist used the forms of nature to examine the existential question of what it means to be human.
