Roland Fischer was born in Saarbrücken in 1958. He began studying mathematics in Munich in 1978 and took up his artistic activities at the same time. In 1981, he had a solo exhibition at the Goethe Institut in New York, followed by a work stay in Tokyo in 1982. Fischer’s works are found in the holdings of international museums and private collections. He lives and works in Munich.
